OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The Bethel Wildcats used the long ball to outlast the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City Tuesday afternoon in Oakland City, Indiana. The Cats won 10-9.
Bethel's Ruber Medina had a career day with a Grand Slam in the first and a three-run homer in the eighth to give the Wildcats a late lead. He also had another RBI giving him eight RBI's in the game. Sebastian Cortes homered and drove in two runs.
Tony Costas picked up the win. Giovannie Nieves had a five out save.
Bethel moved to 14-11 while the Oaks dropped to 13-18 on the year.
The Bat Cats return to action this weekend hosting Talladega in a non-conference series. The teams meet Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday will face off in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
