MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats stepped out of league play Saturday hosting the Tornadoes of Talladega College. The Wildcats dropped to 14-12 with a 9-5 loss to the visitors from Alabama. Talladega improved to 12-19.
The Wildcats took a first inning lead on a Jacob Foster RBI. The Tornadoes wasted no time coming back scoring four runs in the second. Bryan Catala scored a run in the second with a stolen base to make it 4-2. Talladega added a single run in the second, two in the fifth and finished off their scoring with another tally in the sixth. Ruber Medina and Juan Torres scored single runs on errors by the Tornadoes in the third. Foster homered in the 7th to complete Bethel's scoring. Foster would finish the game with three hits on the day.
Alex Valcarcel suffered the loss. Talladega outhit Bethel 12-9.
The teams play a doubleheader Sunday beginning at noon.
