HENDERSON, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats dropped both games of their doubleheader at No. 25 Freed-Hardeman Saturday. FHU won 11-2 and 11-6.
Game one saw Freed outhit the Wildcats 16-7. Bethel scored two runs in the second but for the most part were stymied by Lion pitching. Ruber Medina highlighted the inning with a solo homer. Marco Santa (4-1) suffered his first loss of the season.
In game two the Lions outhit the Wildcats 11-10. Bethel's runs came on Nick Proto and Luke Patterson's solo home runs in the fourth. The Wildcats rallied with four runs in the seventh but eventually came up short. Jack Surber had a two run double followed by a Medina RBI single. Caden Davidson took the loss.
The Wildcats won the series opener on Friday winning 4-2.
Bethel fell to 13-11 overall and 10-8 in the MSC. The Lions improved to 17-15 and 10-3.
The Wildcats travel to Oakland City Tuesday with action beginning at 2 p.m.
