MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats ran their record to 10-5 with a non-conference 5-2 win over Oakland City Tuesday afternoon in McKenzie.
Trailing 1-0 in the second the Cats rallied on a two RBI single by Jacob Foster to take a 2-1 lead after two. The Wildcats took a 3-1 lead in the fourth. Baylor Steelman put the Cats up 4-1 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Bethel added another run in the eighth to win 5-2.
Foster led the Wildcats with three hits.
Bethel outhit the Oaks 14-6.
Alexis Rodriquez picked up the win. Chandler Harmon had pitched four solid innings allowing just one run on two hits.
OCU fell to 8-11 on the season.
The Wildcats return to conference play this weekend at Shawnee State. The teams will play a single game Friday at 1 p.m. CST and a twin bill Saturday at noon.
