MOBILE, Ala. – The Bethel Wildcats came from behind Saturday to grab game three of their series against Mobile. The Rams had swept the Friday doubleheader at Jacobs Field.
Trailing 5-3 in the eighth, Bethel's Jack Surber picked his team up with a dramatic grand slam to give the Cats the 7-5 lead. Giovannie Nieves closed the door in relief and picked up the save. Danny Lara was the winner.
Baylor Steelman, Nick Proto and Randy Guevarez each drove in single runs in the 7-5 win.
The Wildcats improved to 7-8 and 1-2 in the SSAC. No. 24 Mobile fell to 16-4 and 2-1.
The Wildcats return to action Tuesday hosting No. 8 Freed-Hardeman. The doubleheader at the Kahlden Complex begins at 2 p.m. It begins a seven game home stand for the Wildcats.
