MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats and the Olivet Nazarene Tigers resumed their Civil War Series Friday at the Kahlden Complex in McKenzie. The programs had met 32 times with Bethel holding a 21-10-1 advantage in the series. The Tigers reversed that trend however with a 6-2 win over the Wildcats.
ONU scored two runs in the fifth and six innings. They added a single run in the eighth. Bethel scored single runs in the fifth and eighth innings.
The Tigers outhit the Cats 10-6. Bethel left 10 men on base in the game.
Jacob Foster had three of Bethel's hits. Sabastian Cortez drove in a run for the Bat Cats.
Tyler Guertin picked up the Tiger win while Alex Valcarel suffered the Bethel loss.
The Wildcats fell to 5-5 on the season while ONU picked up their first win and moved to 1-5.
The Cats and the Tigers will meet in a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday.
