MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats beat Lindenwood University-Belleville for the second time on the season with 12-8 win Wednesday at the Kahlden Complex in McKenzie. With the victory the Wildcats improved to 24-16 while LUB fell to 23-23 on the season. It was Bethel's third straight win. Lindenwood-Belleville had won seven of their last ten. Bethel leads the series over the Lynx 5-3.
The Wildcats trailed 5-1 after three innings but rallied to win.
Cat Scratches:
Bethel outhit the Lynx 12-11 in the game. Danny Lara picked up the win in relief. Rob Park suffered the Lynx loss.
The Cats take to the road this weekend with a key three-game series at arch-rival Martin Methodist in Pulaski. The teams play a single game Friday at noon and a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
The Cats and the RedHawks are both 12-9 in SSAC play and tied for fourth in the league. They trail Blue Mountain by one game in the league standing. The Toppers enter league action this weekend at 13-8. Blue Mountain is in a key series versus William Carey this weekend. Bethel closes their season with a three game series with the Toppers at home next week.
