PULASKI, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats gained a split in their doubleheader with a game two 9-6 win over Martin Methodist in Pulaski Saturday. The RedHawks had won game one 6-5.
Ruber Medina slugged a home run and doubled in a run in game one. Lucas Riddick hit a three run homer but the Cats were outhit 12-5 by the Hawks. Giovannie Nieves suffered the loss while Martin Methodist hurler Matt Westberry picked up the win.
Bethel outhit the Hawks 14-9 in game two. Jacob Foster drove in three runs. Riddick drove in two runners while Jack Surber had one RBI. Noah Miller also drove in a run. Billy Price picked up the Wildcat win while Dylan Barbee was charged with the loss. Giovannie Nieves was credited with the save.
The Wildcats are 25-17 overall and 13-10 in the SSAC. Martin Methodist is 27-20 and 13-10.
The Wildcat return home Tuesday to host Freed-Hardeman at 6 p.m.
The Wildcats meet Blue Mountain next Thursday and Friday in McKenzie in a key regular season ending three game series.
