MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2019 SSAC volleyball year-end awards were announced at the awards banquet Thursday evening. All awards were voted on by league coaches.Important according to Google magic.
Bethel's Hannah McGowan and Arielly de Souza were named First Team SSAC All-Conference.
Rachael Gunn and Madison Ralph were named to the second team all-conference squad.
Ralph, McGowan, Shelby Coombes, Maria Azevedo, Maggie Brooks, Brianna Monk and Abigail Wiser were named to the All-Academic team.
Brooks was named to the Champions of Character Team.

The Lady Wildcats were the Comeback Cats winning their first match in Pool B play at the SSAC Championships Thursday morning. The Lady Cats beat Florida College 3-2 to move to 21-11 on the year.
After falling behind two sets to none, Bethel rallied winning the last three sets. Bethel won 23-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21 and 15-8.
It was Bethel's seventh straight win and 11th in their last 12 matches. Florida College dropped to 14-18.
Arielly de Souza had 23 kills and 17 digs. Hannah McGowan had 17 kills and 12 digs. Katelyn Van Hooser had 32 assists and 19 digs. Rachael Gunn contributed with 14 kills. Madison Ralph had 17 digs while Maggie Brooks had 21 assists.
Coach Starla Cupples commented, "Florida College played a great game and it took us some time to settle in and find our rhythm. After being down 2-0 we fought back and got the win. I am really proud of the ladies and how they battled back."
The Lady Cats continue Pool B action facing Faulkner Friday at 12:30 p.m. They meet Mobile Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.
