MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats fell short of in their quest for a SSAC title, losing in the semifinals of the conference tournament Saturday. No. 4 William Carey defeated No. 2 Bethel 3-0.
The Lady Cats had beaten WCU twice during the regular season but the Crusaders gained a measure of revenge winning 25-19, 25-23 and 25-20.
The Crusaders got 17 kills and 17 digs from Jordan Stephens and 34 assists and 15 digs from Gillian Tripp.
Bethel got 15 kills and 14 digs from Arielly de Souza and 25 digs from Madison Ralph.
Bethel had been one of the hottest teams in the nation winning nine straight until their loss to Mobile Friday in pool play. Bethel completed their season a 22-13.
