MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Paschal Mohungsi scored a first period goal at Brewton-Parker and it proved to be all the Bethel Wildcats needed in Mount Vernon Saturday as they beat the Barons 1-0 to move to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the SSAC. BPU dropped to 3-5 and 0-2.
Bethel outshot the Barons 18-11 and had a 9-7 shots on goal advantage. Bethel had a 9-2 margin in corner kicks.
Brandon Ndip was credited with an assist on the Mohungsi score. Marco Taaffe recorded six saves.
The Wildcats travel to Williams Baptist Tuesday for a 3 p.m. match. The Cats return home Saturday October 6 for a 4 p.m. match-up against SSAC rival Martin Methodist.
