NEW ORLEANS, La. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats traveled to the Crescent City to meet the Loyola Wolfpack Friday night. The Lady Cats spoiled the home opener for the Pack in The Den in New Orleans by winning 25-15, 25-18, 22-25 and 25-19.
It marked the 11th meeting in a series Bethel has dominated at 10-1. The match was the first in a four day three game road set for the Cats.
Rachael Gunn led Bethel with 22 kills and 17 digs. Brooke Burress and Katelyn Van Hooser both had 27 assists. Giulia Zilotti was credited with 19 digs while Hannah McGowan had 11 digs on the night. Jessyca Watson had 12 kills. Maria Azevedo finished with 10 kills.
Bethel moved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the SSAC. The Pack fell to 10-6 and 2-1.
The Lady Wildcats move on to William Carey for a Saturday afternoon match-up against the Crusaders with play beginning at 1 p.m.
