ATHENS, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats began a four game road stretch with a 3-2 win at Tennessee Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon. Bethel improved to 6-2 on the year while the Bulldogs fell to 5-3. It was the first meeting ever between the two programs.
After falling behind 1-0 the Wildcats tied the match on a first period Pascal Mohungsi goal. The teams went to the second period knotted at one.
Bethel's Michael Nwafor gave the Cats a 2-1 lead. The Dogs tied it and then Mohungsi found the net for the game winner.
Bethel outshot the home team 17-12 and had an 11-6 shots on goal advantage.
Marco Taaffe was strong in goal recording four saves for Bethel.
Bethel returns to action Thursday, September 27 traveling to Middle Georgia State. They return home October 6 to host arch-rival Martin Methodist.
