MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats opened Southern States Athletic Conference play Saturday morning with a 3-0 win over the visiting Falcons of Florida College. The Wildcats ran their record to 5-2 and 1-0. Florida College fell to 2-5 and 0-2.
Bethel won 25-22, 25-20 and 25-18.
Hannah McGowan led Bethel with 15 kills. Jessyca Watson had five blocks. Giulia Zilotti contributed with 10 digs. Brooke Burress and Katelyn Van Hooser had 15 assists each.
The Wildcats had a .265 hitting percentage and had a 6-3 ace advantage.
The Wildcats play host to Fisk Tuesday with action beginning in Crisp Arena at 7 p.m.
