MONTGOMERY, Ala. –The Faulkner Eagles completed a three-game series sweep Saturday beating the Bethel Wildcats 10-0 in a seven inning affair in Montgomery. The Eagles beat Bethel 6-4 and 6-1 Friday night. The Wildcats dropped to 17-20 overall and 8-10 in the SSAC. No. 1 Faulkner moved to 41-3 and 16-2.
The Eagles scored runs in the first four innings and outhit the Wildcats 11-2 in the game. Faulkner's Alex Carrillo was the winner while Bretton Hazlewood was charged with the Wildcat loss.
The Wildcats host Martin Methodist next weekend in a three-game SSAC series.
There will be a ribbon cutting before the game Friday to officially recognize the newly lighted baseball and softball fields as Kahlden Complex. The ribbon cutting will take place at the beginning of the evening game against arch rival Martin Methodist which will begin at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Park.
