MONTGOMERY, Ala. –The Bethel Wildcats dropped both games of their doubleheader at Faulkner Friday afternoon falling 6-4 and 6-1. Bethel fell to 17-19 overall and 8-9 in the SSAC while No. 1 Faulkner moved to 40-3 and 15-2. The Eagles have won eight straight.
Both teams had six hits in game one. Faulkner scored five runs in the second and in the end it proved to be enough despite Bethel scoring four in the fifth to make it close.
Bethel's Jacob Foster drove in two runs. Austin Brenner and Randy Guevarez had an RBI each. Brady Jones suffered the Wildcat loss.
The Wildcats managed only three hits in game two. Kendall Adkisson had Bethel's only RBI with a solo homer. Trevor Bishop was charged with the loss.
The two teams play a single game Saturday at 11 a.m.
