COCHRAN, Ga. - After leaving 35 men on base Friday in game two of their doubleheader Friday night the Bethel Wildcats and the No. 15 Middle Georgia Knights did not have trouble scoring Saturday afternoon in the series finale in Cochran.
The Wildcats scored four runs in the third and three in the fourth. They added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings. The tough news however was MGS scored one in the first, four in the second, two in the third, one in fourth, six in the sixth, one in the seventh and four runs in the eighth. The Knights went on to win 19-9 despite committing four errors in the game. The Knights blasted three homers in the victory.
Bethel's Kendall Adkisson and Lucas Riddick drove in single runs in the third. Jack Surber then added a two-run homer for Bethel's four runs in the inning.
In the fourth, Logan Talley, Braden Lott and Riddick drove in runs.
Colby Poston was credited with an RBI in the eighth.
The Knights outhit the Wildcats 21-11 in the game.
Austin Goff picked up the MGS win while Brandon Degengaard suffered the loss.
Bethel remains on the road with a single game at Lindenwood University- Belleville Wednesday at 1 p.m.
They return home Friday and Saturday with a three game conference series against Loyola University. The teams play a twinbill Friday beginning at 4 p.m. They play a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
