MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats dropped both games of their season opening doubleheader at Wildcat Park Saturday falling to Columbia College (Mo.) 7-1 and 8-5.
In game one Kendall Adkisson drove in Bethel's lone run. Columbia scored seven runs on 11 hits. Bethel had two errors in the game. Bethel had six hits in the opener. Cody Ebert picked up the run while Trevor Bishop suffered the loss for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats had three RBI's by Colby Poston while Jack Surber and Austin Brenner drove in single runs in the nightcap but it wasn't enough as Columbia rapped out nine hits to win. Bethel committed four errors in the contest. A four-run seventh by Columbia enabled them to win. Dakota Stone was the winner while Billy Price was charged with the loss.
The Wildcats are back in action with doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at home against Cincinnati Christian. Saturday's twinbill begins at 1 p.m. with action slated at noon on Sunday.
