MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The basketball doubleheader scheduled Saturday between Bethel and Loyola is still on according to officials at the school. The women's game begins at 2 p.m. while the men play at 4 p.m.
The Lady Cats enter the SSAC showdown at 12-6 and 4-1 in the league. Bethel has won six in a row after their 77-61 home win over Mobile Thursday night. The Pack is 12-4 and 5-1 in the league. They are coming off a conference loss at Martin Methodist Thursday night. The loss snapped a Loyola eight game winning streak.
It will be the 11th meeting between the two SSAC powers. Each won on their home court last season. Bethel leads the series 7-3. The Lady Wildcats are 4-0 in McKenzie. They are 3-2 in New Orleans while Loyola won between the two in the SSAC Championship finals in Montgomery in 2015.
The Wildcats host the Pack at 4 p.m. The game was chosen by fans on social media as the SSAC Game of the Week. Loyola enters the contest at 9-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Pack loss to Martin Methodist Thursday night in Pulaski. Bethel is 10-8 and 3-3. They beat Mobile 73-59 Thursday in Crisp Arena.
It will be the 10th meeting between the two programs. The Wildcats lead the series 6-3. Bethel is 4-0 in McKenzie. They are 1-3 in New Orleans but won the only meeting in the SSAC Championships in Montgomery.

The ceremony honoring the 1982 men's team scheduled for halftime of the men's game has been postponed. The rescheduled date will be announced when confirmed.
