MCKENZIE, Tenn. – After five straight matches on the road the Bethel Lady Wildcats played their first home match Wednesday night hosting the Cumberland University Phoenix in Crisp Arena. The Lady Wildcats saw their 12 game home winning streak snapped falling to the Phoenix 3-0. CU won 25-19, 25-15 and 25-24.
The loss was the third straight for Lady Wildcats who fell to 1-5 on the season. The Phoenix improved to 5-4 on the year.
Jessyca Watson (JR/Gallatin, TN) led Bethel with 12 kills. Katelyn Van Hooser (FR/Princeton, KY) had 14 assist while Brooke Buress followed with 13. Giulia Zilotti (JR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) had 17 digs.
The Lady Wildcats hit the road for the Southeastern Challenge in Columbia, Kentucky. The event is being hosted by Lindsey Wilson College.
Bethel plays Milligan College Friday at 10 a.m. followed by a noon match-up against Union College. Saturday Bethel meets Bryan College at noon and Saint Thomas at 2 p.m.
