MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats rapped out 16 hits and scored nine runs but in the end it was not enough as the Wildcats lost another high scoring game falling at CBU Wednesday afternoon 12-9.
Bethel led 5-3 but gave up eight runs to Bucs in the fifth inning and could not overcome the big inning by the home team. The Wildcats left 16 runners on base in the game. CBU had 11 hits in the victory. Both teams committed three errors.
Christian Padin drove in three runs while Clayton Parker had three hits and two RBI's. Colby Poston drove in two runs while freshman Jack Surber had three hits and scored two runs. He also had an RBI.
Jacob McDougal who was one of eight Bethel pitchers used in the game suffered the loss.
Bethel dropped to 12-10 while CBU improved to 8-16 on the season.
Bethel returns to action Saturday and Sunday at home hosting Blue Mountain in SSAC play. The games were moved back one day due to a rainy forecast for Friday. The two league opponents will square off for a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. They will play a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.
