Bat Cats Take Twin-bill from Cincinnati Christian

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak taking a doubleheader over the visiting Cincinnati Christian Eagles Friday afternoon at Wildcat Park. Bethel won game one 14-2 and game two 3-0.

Bethel jumped out early in game one scoring three runs in the first inning. They added to the lead and eventually put the game away scoring three in third, one in the fifth and five in the sixth. Bethel rapped out 13 hits in the game. Lucas Riddick had three hits and drove in three runs. Gabriel Matias drove in three runs. Colby Poston had three RBI's while Jack Surber had a single RBI. Kendall Adkisson had three hits in the contest. Brady Jones was the winner while Steven White and Cody Ladner were effective in relief.

Game two saw a sterling pitching performance by Bethel's Trevor Bishop. He fired a five-hit shutout in Bethel's 3-0 win. Christian Padin led off the fourth with a triple and scored on a Riddick RBI single. Taylor McKinney and Clayton Parker each drove in a run in the fifth to pad the lead.

The Wildcats improved to 12-9 on the season while the Eagles fell to 4-14.

Saturday's scheduled doubleheader has been cancelled due to the weather forecast for McKenzie and West Tennessee. Bethel travels to Christian Brothers Wednesday for a single game at 1 p.m.
