Bat Cats Use Hot Bats to Sweep Doubleheader

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats pounded out 20 hits and scored 20 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Olivet Nazarene Friday afternoon at Wildcat Park in McKenzie. The Cats won game one 12-4 and game two 8-4. Bethel had ten hits in each win running their record to 5-4 on the season. ONU fell to 3-2 on the season.

A five-run fourth was the big inning in the first game. Six different Wildcats drove in runs in the game. Colin Roberts went deep and drove in four runs. Taylor McKinney had a homer and drove in two runs. Kendall Adkisson and Colby Poston each drove in two runs while Christian Padin and Lucas Riddick drove in single runs. Brady Jones picked up the victory for the Wildcat.

In game two it was another offensive onslaught by the Wildcats. Poston drove in five runs with three hits and finished with seven RBI's on the day. Roberts had another RBI and finished with five runs driven in on the day. Freshman Jack Surber had his first collegiate home run in the contest. Trevor Bishop picked up the win for the Wildcats.

The Cats travel to Freed –Hardeman Tuesday for a nine-inning single game beginning at 3 p.m.
