MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats shutout Olivet Nazarene Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Park in McKenzie winning 5-0. The Wildcats swept the weekend series and moved to 6-4 on the year while ONU fell to 3-3 on the season.
A three run third inning was all Bethel would eventually need to win. Lucas Riddick hit a home run to give Bethel the early lead. A two-run homer by Kendall Adkisson gave Bethel a 3-0 lead. Riddick and Clayton Poston drove in single runs in the fifth and sixth to give the Wildcats the 5-0 margin.
Hayden Edwards picked up the win for the Wildcats.
The Cats travel to Freed -Hardeman Tuesday for a nine-inning single game beginning at 3 p.m.
