HATTIESBURG, Miss. – It has not been a good week for Bethel athletic squads to visit Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Both soccer squads dropped decisions there Thursday night to ranked William Cary teams. Friday night the Bethel Volleyball team lost to the Crusaders 3-1. It was the second time this season WCU has handed the Volley Cats a loss. WCU won 25-22, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-13.
Jessyca Watson led Bethel with 12 kills. Katelyn Van Hooser had 20 assists. Brianca Mayfield had a game high 25 digs.
The loss snapped a Bethel two game winning streak and dropped the Lady Wildcats to 10-13 overall and 6-4 in SSAC action. WCU won their fourth in a row and propelled the Crusaders to 16-11 and 5-6.
Bethel is back in action Saturday in New Orleans against Loyola University. Play begins at 1 p.m. in the Crescent City.
