MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats saw their four game winning streak snapped at No. 15 Dalton State Thursday night falling to the Roadrunner 4-3. The Wildcats fell to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in the SSAC. DSU snapped a two game losing streak and moved to 8-3 and 1-2. The Roadrunners remained unbeaten at home at 7-0.
Jerry Wiltsher gave Bethel a 1-0 lead at 38:55 of the first period. Vincius Rebeiro was credited with the assist. DSU tied the game three minutes later and the teams were knotted at one each after the first.
The Roadrunners scored two goals in the first eight minutes of the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Rebeiro scored at the 59:48 mark to cut the deficit to 3-2. After DSU made it 4-2 Bethel's Jaiquan Bristol pulled Bethel to within 4-3 with 25 minutes left but the Wildcats could never find the equalizer and the Roadrunners would win 4-3.
The Cats travel to Faulkner Saturday and then closes out the three game road trip visiting No. 1 William Carey on October 18.
The Wildcats return home on October 21st to host No. 13 Mobile on Senior Day. They close out the regular season campaign on October 28th at (RV) Martin Methodist.
