MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Bethel Wildcats saw their four game winning streak snapped at No. 15 Dalton State Thursday night falling to the Roadrunner 4-3 but bounced back Saturday with a 4-2 victory at Faulkner in Montgomery.
The Wildcats improved to 10 -3 overall and 3-1 in the SSAC. Faulkner fell to 7-4-1 and 1-3 in league action.
The Cats scored all four goals in the first period. Mustapha Wadda put Bethel up 1-0. Rodrigo Campos made it 2-0 on an assist from Leonardo Ferreira. Ahmad Saidy increased the Cat margin to 3-0 lead on an assist from Wadda. Jaiquan Bristol on an assist from Luke Sellers scored Bethel's final goal. Faulkner scored a late first period goal and had the only score by either squad in the second period but Bethel prevailed to snatch the victory.
Faulkner outshot Bethel 13-12 and had a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. Marco Taaffe recorded four saves for the Wildcats.
The Cats close out their three game road stretch visiting No. 1 William Carey Wednesday.
The Wildcats return home on October 21st to host No. 13 Mobile on Senior Night. That match time has been moved to 7:30 p.m. due to a band competition scheduled at Wildcat Stadium on the same day. They close out the regular season campaign on October 28th at (RV) Martin Methodist.
