ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Bethel Wildcats suffered a 3-0 setback against LSU Alexandria Sunday afternoon at the Generals Soccer Pitch.
The Generals struck early when Lucas O'Donnell converted a penalty kick in the third minute. O'Donnell added his second goal of the match at the 10:43 mark, finishing a pass from Juan Buitrago to give LSUA a 2-0 advantage.
Pablo Novoa Martin extended the Generals' lead to 3-0 in the 32nd minute, scoring off an assist from Takumi Hirose.
Bethel settled in after the early deficit and held LSU Alexandria scoreless throughout the second half. The Wildcats produced two shots on goal, both coming from Tim Haans, but LSUA goalkeeper Jayden Peglar stopped each attempt.
Samuel Moreno recorded two saves in goal for the Wildcats.
LSUA finished with a 16-7 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. The Generals placed five shots on goal compared to two for Bethel.
The Wildcats moved to 1-2-1 on the season and will return home to host UT Southern Saturday at Walter Butler Stadium.
