MCKENZIE, Tenn. -The 13th ranked Bethel Wildcats edged the 19th ranked Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands 1-nil Friday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
A first period goal by Stanley Isaac would be all the Cats would need to win. Goffin Oyirworth had the assist on the game winner.
The Pats had a 9-8 advantage in shots and a 6-3 margin in shots on goal. Bethel's Norberto Lima Vieira was huge in net for the Wildcats with six saves.
The Cats are 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference.
The Pats are 4-2-3 and 1-1.
Bethel has outscored their opponents 29-7 on the season.
The Wildcats are back in action Monday at 6:30 p.m. hosting Central Baptist at Wildcat Stadium.
