LEBANON, Tenn. –Due to field conditions after recent storms the Bethel Wildcats and the No. 25 Cumberland Phoenix met in a single game Saturday and pushed their doubleheader over the weekend series to Sunday.
Cumberland moved out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the first.
The Wildcats tied the game in the top of the fourth when Aidan Morris singled driving in Zayden McCaslin.
Cumberland regained the lead scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The Cats pulled to within one with a run in the top of the seventh. Noah Hawkins had an RBI double driving in J T Morgan.
Cumberland broke the game open with an eight run seventh. CU added a single run in the eighth to win 12-2.
Cumberland outhit the Cats 15-5.
Tyler Proctor suffered the Bethel Loss. Reid Madariaga was the winner for CU.
The Wildcats dropped to 9-19 overall and 5-8 in the MSC. Cumberland moved to 19-5-1 and 9-0.
The twin bill Sunday will begin at 11 a.m.
