MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats played host to the Christian Brothers Bucs Tuesday afternoon. It was the 15th meeting between the two programs. Bethel held an 11-3 advantage in the series but Tuesday bucked that trend as the Bucs won 6-1. It marked the first meeting between the two since 2017.
The Bucs pushed across two runs in the third and three in the third. The Cats picked up a run in the second when Kendrick Osborne singled in Jose Olmeda. CBU added a single run in the eighth inning and went on to win 6-1.
CBU outhit the Wildcats 8-5. The Wildcats committed four errors in the game. Briar Fischer was charged with the Wildcat loss.
Bethel dropped to 8-15 on the season. CBU improved to 10-14.
The Wildcats will hit the road traveling to the University of the Cumberlands for a three-game MSC series in Williamsburg Thursday and Friday. The games have been moved up due to the weather forecast. The squads will play a doubleheader Thursday at 1 p.m. CST, and then play a single game Friday with that time to be determined later. The Patriots are ranked 12th in the nation.
