MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The Bethel Baseball Cats returned to action Saturday playing host to (RV) Olivet Nazarene in the annual Civil War Series.
The Tigers took both games of the four-game series openers winning 6-0 and 8-1.
In game one ONU outhit the Cats 8-6. The Wildcats struggled with five errors in the game. Tyler Proctor suffered the Wildcat loss. Ethan Underwood picked up the Tiger victory.
Game two saw the Tigers break the game open with a five run sixth. ONU outhit the Cats 10-2. Bethel had three errors in the game.
Bryan Catala had the lone RBI for Bethel.
Marco Santa was charged with the loss. Nolan Belschner picked up the Tiger win.
Bethel dropped to 2-8 while ONU improved to 4-4 on the season.
The squads will complete the series Sunday with a twin bill slated to begin at noon.
