COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 12 Bethel Wildcats traveled to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson for a Top 15 NAIA and MSC Showdown Wednesday night.
The Wildcats outshot the Blue Raiders 12-8 and had a 6-4 margin in shots on goal but in the end, LWC scored the only goal of the game on a second period penalty kick.
Lindsey Wilson took a 1-nil lead at the 62:38 mark on a penalty goal by Sadam Masereka and that proved to be the game winner.
Bethel dropped to 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the MSC.
Lindsey Wilson moved to 8-2-1 and 2-0.
It was the 14th meeting in the series. LWC has a 10-3-1 advantage between the two.
Bethel has a few days off as they return to action on October 10 traveling to arch-rival and MSC foe Freed-Hardeman for a 7 p.m. match-up.
