BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats rallied in the decisive fifth set to win at Lyon Tuesday night.
The Cats trailed 11-8 before scoring the last seven straight points to win 15-11. Ashley Sommerfeld had three straight kills to even the match. Sami Parker had a huge service ace in the rally.
Bethel won, 25-10, 24-26, 25-17, 20-25 and 15-11.
Sommerfeld finished with 10 kills. Parker had 21 digs. Hannah McGowan had a big night with 23 kills and 21 digs. Nayeli Vilchez was sensational with 55 assists. Alex Lipsey contributed with 14 digs while Madelyn Woods had 11 digs.
Bethel moved to 12-4 and 5-1 in road action on the season. Lyon dropped to 7-8. Bethel leads the all-time series 7-0.
The teams meet again October 15 in Crisp Arena.
The Lady Wildcats return home Saturday to host Thomas More in a MSC match-up. Action begins at 1 p.m.
