BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats opened the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Volleyball tournament Thursday morning in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The event is being held at the Bowling Green Arena/Ephram White Park.
The 8TH seeded Lady Wildcats (11-11) beat 9th seeded Thomas More (8-13) 3-0 to advance to face No. 1 seeded Lindsey Wilson (18-3, 14-2) Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m.
Bethel won 15-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-22.
First team all-conference selection Hannah McGowan led Bethel with 23 kills and 13 digs. Ashely Sommerfeld followed with 13 kills. Katelyn Van Hooser had her solid performance with 18 assists and 16 digs. Maggie Brooks had 19 assists. Sami Parker had 14 digs while Brianna Monk had 11 digs.
Bethel lost twice to LWC during the regular season. The Blue Raiders won 3-1 in Columbia and 3-0 in McKenzie.
