MARIETTA, Ga. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the first period at Life University Tuesday afternoon only to see the Eagles tie the match with a second period score. The match would go two overtimes and finish in a 1-1 deadlock.
Bethel's Catherine Hatch scored on an assist from Ainhoa Chirvella Roncero at the 34:38 mark of the first period. Life's Mathide Sletner tied the match at the 37:27 mark of the second period.
Bethel had a commanding advantage in shots (27) over the Eagles (14). Both squads had seven shots on goal. Bethel's Shanay Ricketts recorded six saves.
Bethel finished the day at 3-3-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the MSC. Life completed their day at 4-6-2 and 0-6-1.
The match was the second of four straight road games for the Wildcats.
The Lady Cats return to action Sunday traveling to Campbellsville with action beginning at 1 p.m. CST
