MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats bounced back from a tough loss at Campbellsville Saturday with a five set win over MSC rival Martin Methodist Sunday afternoon. Bethel won 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-10.
Bethel improved to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the MSC. Martin Methodist dropped to 8-3 and 5-2.
With the fifth set tied at seven, Bethel outscored MMC 8-3 to secure the win.
Hannah McGowan had 17 kills and 21 digs. Lindsey Christianson had 32 digs and five aces. Brianna Monk contributed with 14 digs. It was a big assist night for Katelyn Van Hooser who had 27 on the day. Maggie Brooks followed with 25 assists. Addison Coulter had eight blocks in the match.
Coach Starla Cupples said, "I'm very proud of how the ladies bounced back after a rough game yesterday. They fought every point. We have a big week ahead with FHU Thursday, University of the Cumberlands Friday and Pikeville Sunday."
Bethel returns to action Thursday at Freed-Hardeman. It will be the first of four straight matches on the road.
