WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. –The University of the Cumberlands scored two first period goals and went on to beat the Bethel Lady Wildcat 2-0 in Williamsburg Sunday afternoon. No. 25 Bethel lost their third straight and fell to 3-3 and 0-3 in the Mid-South Conference.
Goals by Ainhoa Camara and Shara Randez gave the Patriots the only scores they would need to move to 9-1 and 5-1.
The Patriots outshot the Lady Cats 20-7 and had an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. Bethel's Shanay Ricketts recorded nine saves in the match.
Coach Misty Aird commented, "We fought hard and hung in there against a top ten team. We have to continue to work hard and prepare for another conference road game at Life Tuesday."
The Lady Wildcats travel to Life University Tuesday for a 3 p.m. CST matchup.
