GEORGETOWN, Ky. –Fresh off their first conference win of the season over Cumberland University, the Bethel Lady Wildcats found themselves locked into a marathon match at Georgetown Thursday night.
The match featured two overtime sets and saw both teams battle back from deficits throughout the night. The Cats fell in five sets, 14-25, 27-25, 26-28, 25-18, 12-15.
The Cats dropped to 2-5 and 1-3 in the MSC. The Tigers improved to 4-1 and 2-1.

The teams combined for 115 total kills, 161 total digs and 111 total assists.
Coach Starla Cupples said despite the loss, she still has faith in her team, "Tonight was a tough loss. Georgetown fought back hard in the 4th set and gained momentum for the 5th. We had an opportunity to finish and failed. While it's disappointing, I believe in my girls. Losses are learning opportunities and we'll do just that. We will move forward to prepare for Campbellsville Saturday."
Bethel returns to action Saturday in Campbellsville facing the Lady Tigers at 3 p.m. CST.
