MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The (RV) Bethel Lady Wildcats completed their regular season with a convincing 5-1 win over the Georgetown Tigers Thursday afternoon in Wildcat Stadium. It was Bethel's fourth straight win and moved the Cats to 8-4-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the MSC. Georgetown dropped to 6-7 and 4-7.
Ainhoa Chirivella Roncero scored Bethel's first goal on assists from Molly Flynn and Brittany Bray. A few minutes later Elvira Martin scored on an assist by Roncero. Jodi Butler made it 3-0 after an assist by Bray and Bethel led at the break 3-0.
Martin scored at the 30:12 mark of the second period and the Lady Cats led 4-0. Sacha Gay Brown was credited with the assist. Rafaela Passos added a late goal to put Bethel up 5-0. The score came after an assist by Maria Fernanda Campos.
Georgetown's Braelyn Gant scored on a penalty kick at the 15:57 mark to put the Lady Tigers on the board.
Bethel had a 21 -3 advantage in shots and an 11-2 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel will enter postseason conference play Monday at home against an opponent to be determined. The time for the match will be announced this weekend.
