MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats (RV) played host to longtime rival Freed-Hardeman Friday at Wildcat Stadium. It was the first of a four game home stand to close out the regular season. The Lady Cats grabbed their first home win on the year with a 2-0 victory over the Lions.
Bethel's Jodi Butler scored on a rebound of a shot by Maria Fernanda Campos at 22:39 of the first period.
Campos scored at the 4:52 mark of the second period to give the Wildcats a 2-0 margin.
The Lady Cats had a 23-2 margin in shots and a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Bethel moved to 5-4-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the MSC. FHU dropped to 2-6-1 and 1-7.
It was the 11th meeting between the two programs with Bethel holding a 10 -1 advantage in the series. The Lady Cats have won the last six match-ups between the two.
The Lady Cats play host to UPIKE at 2 p.m. Sunday.
