MOBILE, Ala. –The Bethel Wildcats snapped a three game losing streak with a 90-83 win at Mobile Saturday. The Wildcats moved to 17-11 overall and 8-8 in the SSAC. Mobile dropped to 11-15 and 5-11. It was Bethel's fourth straight win in the series and they have a 10-3 margin between the two. The Cats beat the Rams 94-78 earlier this season in McKenzie.
Bethel led 41-35 at the half and would lead by as many as 14 in the second half. The Cats shot 52 percent hitting 34-of-65 shots. They had a 32-27 rebound advantage and committed just eight turnovers. The Cats knocked down eight three-pointers in the game. The Rams shot 55 percent but committed 13 turnovers.
Cameron Ricks led the Wildcat attack with 22 points. He hit five three's in the game. Noah Chatman continued his outstanding play with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Chandler Clements had 15 points while Javonte Ellis and Cayden Edmonson each followed with 11 points. Darius Curry led the Rams with 21 tallies. Ellis had five of Bethel's 16 assists.
Coach Jeff Britt said, "This was a solid win for us and a good one to bounce back with after that tough loss at Stillman. I'm proud of our young men as everyone contributed today. We look forward to returning home for two big games next week."
The Wildcats close out their regular season with homes games next week at Crisp Arena. They host Loyola Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. and William Carey Saturday at 2 p.m.
