ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Bethel Lady Volley Cats traveled to St. Louis Sunday with the intentions of avenging an earlier season 3-0 home loss to the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy Eutectics. It was UHSP winning however beating Bethel 3-1.
The Eutectic took set one, 25-21. Bethel bounced back taking set two, 25-20. The home squad won both the third and fourth sets by the scores of 25-22.
The Cats were led by Arielly de Souza who had 15 kills and 20 digs. Hannah McGowan finished with 14 kills and 22 digs. Katelyn Van Hooser had 25 assists while Maggie Brooks had 17 assists for the Cats.
Coach Starla Cupples commented, "Although we improved in some areas from the last matchup, it was ultimately our errors that once again lost the match. We have to work on making good decisions and executing at the net."
UHSP improved to 5-6 while Bethel fell to 0-2.
The JV Cats won earlier 25-22 and 22-13.
Bethel returns to action October 27 with a home date versus Central Baptist. Action begins at 6 p.m. with live stats and live video at:
