TEXARKANA, TX – The Bethel Lady Wildcats moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 3-0 win at Texas A & M University-Texarkana Friday night. The Eagles dropped to 2-1 on the year.
Elvira Martin scored in the first period to give the Cats a 1-0 lead. Marina Hamer had the assist on the score. Bethel had a 7-1 advantage on shots on goal in the period.
Martin added another goal in the second period to give Bethel a 2-0 lead. Janine Dennis had the assist. On an assist from Brittany Bray, Dennis added Bethel's third goal of the night and the Cats led 3-0.
Bethel dominated with a 20-5 advantage in shots and an 11-4 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel's Shanay Ricketts recorded four saves in the match.
The Lady Cats return to action Wednesday hosting No. 18 Cumberland University at 6 p.m.
