MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats ran their record to 20-13 with a doubleheader sweep of the visiting Lane College Dragons Tuesday afternoon. Bethel won 13-5 and 9-3. Lane dropped to 15-8 on the year. Bethel has won five straight.
The reigning SSAC Player of the Week, Jezabelle Quintana hit two home runs and drove in eight runs in game one to lead the Lady Wildcats to the lopsided victory. Alexis Wheeler had three hits and drove in two runners. Melanie Alexander had four of Bethel's 17 hits and drove in a run. Iesha Kizer had an RBI.
Bethel scored two runs in the first and four in the second to grab a 6-0 lead. Lane answered with seven runs in the third to grab a one run lead. Bethel scored a run in the fourth and then exploded for six runs in the fifth to win. Maddie Cochran picked up the Wildcat win.
Quintana went deep again in game two and drove in three more runs. Kizer drove in two while Gillian Grahn, Madisen Adkins, Lexee Miller and Madison White each had an RBI. Bethel had 11 hits in the game. A five inning second was the big frame for the Cats. Billie Douglas was the winner for Bethel.
The Lady Wildcats return to action April 9 traveling to Blue Mountain for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
