HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats dropped both games in a non-conference doubleheader at Freed-Hardeman Monday afternoon. The Lady Lions won 9-1 and 7-4. Bethel dropped to 15-12 on the season. The No. 22 Lions moved to 13-6 on the year.
Alexis Wheeler drove in Bethel's lone run in game one with an RBI in the third. FHU outhit Bethel 14-3 in the game. Freed scored three runs in the second, one in the fourth and five runs in the fifth. Maddie Cochran suffered the Lady Cat loss. Morgan Crawford picked up the FHU win.
The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first in game two. They added a single run in the second. FHU scored three runs in the first to tie the game. They added two runs in the third and two tallies in the fourth. Jezabelle Quintana, Iesha Kizer and Madison White drove in single runs for the Lady Wildcats. Bethel outhit FHU 9-6 but stranded 12 runners in the game. Billie Douglas was charged with the loss while Freed's Emily Bradford picked up the Lion win.
Bethel returns home for doubleheaders Friday and Saturday versus SSAC rival Martin Methodist. Action begins Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.
