COCHRAN, Ga. - The Bethel Lady Wildcat softball squad began a six game road stretch with a doubleheader split at Middle George State in Cochran, Georgia Friday. Bethel took game one 2-1 while MGS bounced back with an 11-3 victory in game two.
In game one the Lady Wildcats scored a run in the first and a run in the seventh. Iesha Kizer drove in a run and led Bethel with three hits. Kizer leads Bethel with 23 RBI's on the season. Both squads had five hits in the game.
Billie Douglas went the distance and picked up her eighth win of the season. Caroline Newton suffered the MGS loss.
Middle Georgia pounded out 14 hits in game two to gain the split. Jezabelle Quintana had an RBI but suffered the loss for Bethel. Sydney Shackeford was the winner for the home squad.
Bethel is 13-10 overall 7-5 in the SSAC. The Cats are 5-3 in road action on the season. MGS is 18-8 overall and 5-1 in the league. The series between the two programs is tied at five.
The teams play a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.
