MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats swept the Barons of Brewton-Parker Saturday afternoon in McKenzie to run their record to 11-8 overall and 5-3 in the SSAC. BPU dropped to 6-16 and 4-8. Bethel took game one 2-1 and then completed the sweep with an 8-0 victory in game two. Bethel has won five of their last six games.
A two run third inning proved to be enough for Maddie Cochran and the Lady Cats in game one. Cochran went the distance allowing two hits and one run. Alexis Wheeler and Jezabelle Quintana drove in the Bethel runs in the third.
Billie Douglas pitched a five inning shutout in game two. Quintana drove in two runs. Amanda Perry, Iesha Kizer, Lexee Miller and Makenzie Caldwell each had an RBI.
Bethel returns to action Tuesday hosting Blue Mountain in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
