MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to the Brewton-Parker Barons at the Kahlden Complex in McKenzie Friday. The games were designated as the SSAC Games of the Week. After falling 10-8 in game one the Lady Cats bounced back with a 4-2 win game two. Bethel completed the day at 9-8 and 3-3 in the SSAC. BPU is 6-14 and 1-3.
A five run sixth proved to be the difference as Brewton-Parker won game one 10-8. Bethel outhit the Baron 15-13 but three errors by the Wildcats aided the visitors from Georgia.
Bethel's Iesha Kizer had three hits and two RBI's. Jezabelle Quintana had two hits and drove in a run. Amanda Perry had three hits while Emily Lunn, Julia Abney, Lexee Miller and Makenzie Caldwell all had single RBI's.
The Lady Cats scored single runs in the 1st, 4th, 5th and sixth in game two to gain the split. Alexis Wheeler, Kizer, Caldwell and Darcie Gibson each drove in single runs.
Billie Douglas went the distance and picked up the Wildcat win.
The two squads meet again Saturday for two games with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
