TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After splitting their SSAC opening doubleheader Friday at Stillman College the Bethel Lady Wildcats and the Stillman Tigers followed that same pattern Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Bethel won the first game Friday 11-1 before falling in game two 2-1 in ten innings. Saturday, the Lady Cats won game one 11-3 but fell in the nightcap 4-2.
Saturday's twinbill featured a combined 20 runs, 54 hits, nine errors and 41 runners left on base.
Trailing 3-2 entering the fifth in game one, the Lady Cats scored two runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and three runs in the seventh to pull away for the lopsided victory.
Highlights in game one included:
A three run fifth inning by the Tigers proved to be too much for the Lady Cats in game two. Madison White and Wheeler drove in single runs for the Lady Cats in game two.
Bethel left Tuscaloosa at 6-7 overall and 2-2 in SSAC play. Stillman is 9-7 and 2-2.
The Lady continue their stretch of road games with a doubleheader at Williams Baptist Tuesday with action beginning at 2 p.m.
